# Inactive and active status in an Email Sequence

> Understand what active and inactive subscriber statuses mean in email sequences.

You can locate the **Status** of each email sequence subscriber in the **Subscribers** section of your email sequences:

* **Active** refers to the contacts who are subscribed to the sequence.
* **Inactive** refers to contacts who are not currently receiving this sequence. This can happen for two different reasons:
  * Unsubscribed: The contact unsubscribed from your marketing emails (manually, by opting out, or through a hard bounce).
  * Unconfirmed opt-in: Your account uses Double Opt-In, and the contact has not yet clicked the confirmation link. Their Marketing status can show as Subscribed while Opt-in status is still Unconfirmed — this also shows as Inactive here, even though the contact never unsubscribed. To resolve, have the contact click the confirmation link, or resubmit a Double Opt-In form on their behalf.

  **Note:** This Inactive/Active status is specific to Email Sequences and is unrelated to a contact's Inactive email-engagement status (based on prolonged non-engagement with marketing emails, not opt-in confirmation).

### To view the status of your Email Sequence subscribers

1. From the Kajabi Dashboard, navigate to the **Marketing** tab.
2. Select **Email Campaigns.**
3. Click on the title of your Email Campaigns from the list.
4. Select the **Subscribers** tab at the top navigation.
